Power Saver Rewards
SCE’s Power Saver Rewards Program has officially ended.
SCE thanks you for your participation in this program and for being willing to reduce your energy use during grid emergencies. Because Power Saver Rewards is ending this year, we want to let you know about these alternative SCE programs which will continue to be available:
SCE’s Summer Discount Plan (SDP) lets you earn up to $160 in bill credits when you allow us to install a remote-controlled device on or near your central air conditioning unit, at no cost, to automatically turn off or cycle your unit during SDP events.
SCE’s Smart Energy Program (SEP) lets you earn a one-time sign-up bonus of $75 and up to $40 in annual bill credits when you allow us to temporarily adjust your smart thermostat by up to four degrees during SEP events to help reduce electricity use. And rest assured, you’re always in control and can change the temperature in your home at any time.
What is Power Saver Rewards?
The Power Saver Rewards program rewards you for voluntarily reducing your energy use during Power Saver Rewards events, which are called to help prevent summer outages when the electricity grid is stressed. By conserving energy during Power Saver Rewards events, you’ll earn $1 for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy you save.
Make a Difference
Power Saver Rewards events may occur between May 1 and October 31, lasting from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., typically on hot summer days. We will send you a notification the day before an event so that you may reduce your energy use.
By conserving energy, you’ll join millions of others in your community working together to keep the power on when the California electricity grid needs energy most. It’s easy to make a difference – for example, you can turn up your thermostat, turn off unnecessary lights, or limit the use of large appliances – the choice is yours!
Get Rewarded
Earn $1 for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy you save during Power Saver Rewards events this summer. The more you save, the more you earn! A typical customer who lowers energy usage during eight events over an annual season could earn $20 in bill credits.* Your bill credits will be awarded at the start of each year as compensation for prior-year savings. You’ll also receive an end-of-season report showing a summary of the energy you saved, as well as information on your bill credit.
