Power Saver Rewards

Protect our power and get paid with Power Saver Rewards

Join millions of customers who are working together to protect and preserve our power, prevent outages this summer, and earn rewards for conserving energy. Enrollment is free and voluntary.

What is Power Saver Rewards?

The Power Saver Rewards program rewards you for voluntarily reducing your energy use during Power Saver Rewards events, which are called when the electricity grid is stressed. Your participation helps make the electrical grid more reliable, and in return, you’ll receive a credit on your utility bill.

Make a Difference

Power Saver Rewards events may occur between May 1 and October 31, lasting from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., typically on hot summer days. We will send you a notification the day before an event so that you may reduce your energy use.

By conserving energy, you’ll join millions of others in your community working together to keep the power on when the California electricity grid needs energy most. It’s easy to make a difference – for example, you can turn up your thermostat setpoint, turn your lights off, or give your appliances a break – the choice is yours.

Get Rewarded

You will earn $2 for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy you save. The more you save, the more you earn! By early 2023, you’ll receive your compensation for participating in the 2022 Power Saver Rewards program season as a utility bill credit. You’ll also receive an end-of-season report showing a summary of the energy you saved during the program season, as well as information on  your bill credit.

Who is Eligible?

To participate, you must:

  • Be an SCE electricity service customer
  • Be a customer of a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) that is participating in the program
  • Not be enrolled in a conflicting SCE or non-utility energy savings program

Some SCE customers may be automatically enrolled in the program if they:
